From the Streets to the Classroom: Wanjiku's Journey

Meet Wanjiku, who arrived at Orphans Dream malnourished and unable to read. Today she tops her class and dreams of becoming a doctor.

When 8-year-old Wanjiku arrived at Orphans Dream three years ago, she could barely write her name. Living on the streets after losing both parents, she had never attended school regularly. Through our education program and the dedication of her sponsor, Wanjiku received tutoring, proper nutrition, and emotional support. She quickly caught up to her peers and now consistently ranks first in her class. "I want to be a doctor so I can help other children like me," Wanjiku says with a bright smile. Her story reminds us why every donation and every hour of volunteer work matters.
